Wendy C Allen

Wendy C. Allen, 58, was born on July 1, 1965, in Somerville, NJ, to Thelma Harris and the late Nickolas Allen. She gained her wings peacefully on March 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Wendy was raised in Somerville and attended the Somerville school system, graduating in 1983.  After high school she enrolled in business administration program at Katherine Gibbs. She worked at Baker and Taylor Books, Somerville, NJ, for several years. She was recently employed at Midland Adult Services, Branchburg, NJ, as a caregiver. 

Wendy was honored to celebrate 4 years of self-instilled sobriety on August 29, 2023.  She was a devoted Cowboys fan and enjoyed traveling.  Wendy was a member of Keturah Chapter #63 Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliation, Somerville. She previously sang in the choir at St. Thomas A.M.E. Zion Church of Somerville.

Wendy is predeceased by her father, Nickolas Allen; great grandmother, Edna Van Ness; grandparents, John and Marjorie Van Ness; and Frances Allen, and uncle, John Van Ness.

Wendy is survived by her son, Avery Jones; her mother, Thelma Harris (Will); brother, Donald Allen (Hollie); Brian Jones (Father of Avery); her niece Taquia Norman (Kyle); and nephews Khiry Allen (Hayley) and Tyus Allen; great nieces and nephews, Kamai, Mackenzie, Amaiya, Kyle, Zahr, Ellie and Stori and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends.
