Eleanor McCafferty Fraser, born January 16, 1941 in Glasgow, Scotland to Sarah McCafferty Fraser and Walter William Fraser, died July 12 in Somerville where she raised her three American children alone on foot. She arrived in the US in 1963 on a work visa as a Nanny and worked many jobs to include Somerset Medical Center, Baker & Taylor and Dandy Plastics. In 2007 she became a US citizen. She is predeceased by her parents and brother John Fraser of Australia. Surviving are her loving sons, Mark (Evelyn) Mess, Brian (Maria) Mess, and loving daughter, New Jersey Distinguished Service US Army Somalia War Veteran Sarah (Manuel Delapaz) Mess, her grandchildren, Veronica Pareja, Paul Vincent, Cira Lovella, Ella Marie, and Fleur Paulean of New Jersey, her Brother, Walter William (Anna) Fraser, her niece, Sharon (John) Moore, nephews Michael (Elizabeth) Fraser & Walter (Amanda) Fraser, great nieces, Emily & Samantha and great nephew Caelan (of Scotland). Visitation is July 28 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Buckland Funeral Home, 10 W. End Ave, Somerville, NJ. Memorial Service will begin at 12 noon to the sound of bag pipes.
