Lisa Ann Lee passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. She was born on July 16, 1965 in New Brunswick, New Jersey to her parents Eddie and Mildred Lee. She was educated in the New Brunswick public school system graduating in 1983. After high school, Lisa was employed at Coca Cola for many years. She later relocated to Winston-Salem, NC.
After settling her family in North Carolina, Lisa worked at Baptist Hospital, Physician’s Discovery, and her present employer, Iredell Health System, in Statesville, NC. Determined to be a positive example for her daughters, she ambitiously studied and obtained the highest level of credentials for a Certified Professional Coder.
All who knew her would agree that Lisa was an enthusiastic talker who enjoyed extended phone calls with her family and friends. She loved to make people smile and was an animated storyteller that would leave anyone bursting in laughter. Lisa was kind, compassionate and gracious, but known to be direct and candid. Lisa was a strong advocate of the truth.
Mimi, as she was affectionately called by her granddaughters, spent specials moments and unforgettable memories with them.
Lisa was proceeded in death by her parents and grandparents, Eddie and Ruby Ida. She leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Keyrah McBride (Tivon) and Kelsey McBride; granddaughters, Leah and Laila; “mom and dad” who raised her as a daughter, Roy and Maxzine Drakeford; her siblings, Eddie L. Lee, Jr, Tisha Davis (Michael), Velva Dawson (Michael), Nichole Drakeford and Andre Drakeford; Nieces and Nephews: Tisha, Eddie III, Eddie A., Essence, Quadir, Michael A., Amaia, Michael H., Cori, Christian; Great nephews Tyler, Eddie IV, and Noah; a special cousin, Alma Jones, and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
