Marcella Dorsey

Marcella Thompson-Dorsey of Somerset, NJ was born on September 26, 1951 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Phyllis M. Thompson and Noah H. Thompson, Sr. She departed this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 22, 2018. She graduated from Franklin High School, Somerset, NJ, class of 1970. She served her country in the United States Army at Fort Stewart in Georgia after graduating. In 1991, Marcella returned home in Somerset, NJ and resumed her service to the Lord as a member of the Mount Zion A.M.E. Church in New Brunswick, NJ.

Marcella was a dedicated employee and retired from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey Dining Services as a Cook-C. Marcella was predeceased by her parents, Phyllis Mae and Noah H. Thompson, Sr. and her husband, Gordon Dorsey. Marcella will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her daughter, Vinsetta Tyann Robertson, granddaughter, Ominay Robertson, sister, Lois Thompson Owens, brother, Noah Herman Thompson, Jr., nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends. A memorial service will take place on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Faith Hope Baptist Church, 40 Georges Road, New Brunswick, NJ. Arrangements are entrusted to Buckland Funeral Home, 10 W End Ave., Somerville, NJ.
