Alphonso Tyrone Miller, III was born on August 6, 1970 in St. Albans Naval Hospital, St. Albans, New York, to Janice L. Miller and Alphonso Tyrone Miller, Jr. He joined his sister, Sherice Miller, and they have been inseparable ever since. He was fondly referred to most times as Tyrone, Al, and Alphonso… in that order! Tyrone was always the life of the party who loved to laugh and live in the moment. He loved to talk and could out talk anybody hands down! He is also known to his family and friends as a loving, caring, compassionate, highly-opinionated individual who could probably give any Howard or Harvard law graduate a run for his or her money! He was a trained chef who never knew what humility was when it came to touting his culinary skills; he graciously sent you a picture of his dishes. However, he never revealed that he was a messy chef. He had a broad-based career as a licensed insurance claims adjuster and a licensed gemologist. Tyrone made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ in 1990.
Tyrone grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and lived in Teaneck and Ocean Township, New Jersey, before relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, and later moved to Delaware and Maryland. Tyrone developed strong, lasting friendships throughout his life!
He was a caring and loving father to his daughters, Amber and Teya, and was the ultimate #girldad long before it became in vogue. He was also a fun-loving, caring grandfather to his two older grandchildren, Sani and Amaya, who affectionately called him “Pop Pop,” and was excited to also bond with his newest grandson, Sebastian.
Tyrone departed this life on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, and leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Janice, his daughters, Amber and Teya, his grandchildren, Sani, Amaya, and Sebastian, Newark, Delaware, his sister, Sherice McQueen (Bobby), East Brunswick, New Jersey, his father, Alphonso (Emily), North Brunswick, New Jersey, his aunts, Patricia Robinson, Norfolk, Virginia, Janet Reed, Old Bridge, New Jersey, Joan Ann Reed, Rochester, New York, and Catherine Woods (Ron), Bellevue, Pennsylvania, his uncles, Keith Bridgeman (Pearl), Phoenix, Arizona, and Ron Woods (Catherine), Bellevue, Pennsylvania, a brother-in-law, Bobby McQueen, a nephew, Shane McQueen, a niece, Courtney McQueen, a host of cousins, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his bestest friend and love of his life, his childhood cat, Trigger, who lived with him for 21 years.
Tyrone had a special bond with his mother and knew that she was always his strong tower.
