Antwon Joseph Strickland

Antwon Joseph Strickland affectionately known as “Riverside” departed this life on February 26, 2025 in Willard, North Carolina.

Antwon was born on January 12, 1979 in New Brunswick, New Jersey and was educated in the New Brunswick School System. During the course of his life, Antwon worked at Butter Ball Turkey in North Carolina, America Line Pipe in Wallace, North Carolina, and Dart in Quentin, Mississippi.

Antwon loved to dress. He had a sense of style and everything had to match. He also loved to listen to music and dance the night away. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all.

He was predeceased by his father, Eddie Nay; maternal grandmother, Luvaria Sanders; paternal grandmother, Lidia Gonzalez; an uncle, Carlos Nay; and two cousins, Kimberly Sanders and Joshua Negron.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Patricia Ann Strickland Davis; his children, Antwon Jr. of North Carolina, Ki’mere Britt and Ki’asia Britt both of Keyport, NJ; maternal, grandfather, John D. Sanders of Mississippi; three brothers, Emiliano Davila of Asbury Park, NJ, Santo Davila of Asbury Park , NJ, and Corderain Strickland (fiancé Kasie) of Asbury Park, NJ; one sister, Antwanette Nay of Texas; his aunts,  Louann Sanders Durden of North Carolina, Jackie Nay of Trenton, NJ, and Lucille Sanders whom was his Godmother of Mississippi; two uncles, Golo Nay and Roberto Nay both of New Brunswick, NJ; his special cousins: Raquel Jasmine of North Carolina, Fashionette McKellop of Atlanta, Georgia; His favorite cousins that was always there for him and loved him dearly: Beatrice Strickland, Joseph Jasmin, Sha’Kai Waye, Taylor Lassiter, Ebony Lanier, Tony Lanier, Tane Sanders, Kadejah Lanier, Marketa Bester, Joseph (Yusuf) Spencer, and Julien Negron; host of cousins in the Strickland and Nay Family; 12 nieces and 8 nephews that loved him dearly; his lifetime best friend’s that always helped Antwon with no problem: Celina Pegram, James Jackson, Malik Hicks, Demetrius Richardson, and Willie “Swill” Thomas; a good friend of 13 years, Diane Terrell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
