April Darby Obituary

April Darby was born on February 17, 1966, in Somerville, New Jersey, to Edward and Beverly Darby. April peacefully departed this life on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

April dedicated her entire years of service to LabCorp, where she worked as a supervisor before retiring. She was known for her dedication, strong work ethic, and the care she showed to those she worked alongside.

April was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, whose passion for the game was only rivaled by her love for her family, especially her three grandchildren. April was known for her willingness to go above and beyond for anyone in need, embodying the true spirit of friendship. Her stern and gentle personality brought joy to those around her. Even when she was fussing at you.

You could always see her in her jersey throughout the entire football season, showcasing her unwavering support for her team. April cherished her blue Kia Forte, annual vacations to Virginia Beach and impromptu beach days at the Jersey Shore.

She loved her grandchildren dearly and could often be seen in the summer taking them to the water park, giving them anything and everything they asked for. A dedicated bingo player, her enthusiasm for the game was contagious. She enjoyed hosting her annual barbecues with family, friends, and close coworkers in her backyard, always ensuring that everyone ate well and felt at home. April's tremendous love for everyone in her life will be deeply missed.

April was preceded in death by her father, Eddie Darby; brother, Terry Smith; sister, Shawn Darby; aunt, Jeanette Morrison; uncle, Greg Smith; niece Cesta Darby; and grandmothers, Francis Nevius and Lillian Darby.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her son, Jordan Darby; mother, Beverly Darby; sister Thea Darby-Phillips (Willie); nieces, Morgan, Taylor, Florence, Teri and Toni Darby and nephew Cassius Manor; great niece Yara; great nephews Yasin and Yasir; grandchildren, Aria, Kaleb and Jasiah Darby; cousins, Joseph and Monique Morrison and Michael Moore; her loving fiancé Artie Releford and a host of dear friends who will forever hold her in their hearts.

April will be remembered for her strength, and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to live on in those who knew and loved her.

The family of April Darby wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude for all acts of kindness, love, and support shown during this time of bereavement. Your prayers, calls, visits, and comforting gestures are sincerely appreciated.
