She was not just a mother, but a majestic force of love and strength, instilling unwavering pride in her cherished ones. As a devoted sister and friend, she embraced the role of a nurturing guardian, showering those in her presence with boundless care and support.

In the vibrant town of Brunswick, New Jersey, on Wednesday, February 11, 1948, a beautiful day unfolded as Barbara Ann Briggs entered this world. As she graced the world with her presence, the world celebrated, knowing that her existence would forever shape the intricate fabric of life.

Barbara's presence, right from the start, shone brightly, bringing light to the lives of those in her midst. In the grand tapestry of life, her path curved through the enchanting realms of existence, eventually guiding her to the revered halls of Franklin High School in Somerset, New Jersey.

There, she continued to radiate her brightness, leaving an indelible mark on the souls of those fortunate enough to cross her path.  It was there that she cultivated her knowledge and wisdom, preparing herself for the path that lay ahead.

Barbara's life serves as a shining example of an unyielding dedication to the city that warmly welcomed her. Within the illustrious confines of MICRO, formerly known as the respected Micro Stamping Corporation, in Somerset, New Jersey where she diligently contributed her skills.  

With an unwavering dedication that knows no bounds, she wholeheartedly channels her exceptional skills, thereby making invaluable contributions to the organization. And as the chapters of her life unfolded, she eventually found herself retiring from Ethicon Inc., in Somerville, New Jersey, leaving behind a lasting imprint on the company and its community.

In addition to her inner fortitude and work ethic, Barbara is remembered by her loved ones as a humorous, independent spirit who enjoyed a good laugh.

She is remembered as an avid book reader and for her love of traveling, fishing, and the colors purple and lavender, which were her favorites because her heart leapt with joy at the sight of these hues because they whispered tales of beauty and grace.

Whether reading or casting her line into the tranquil waters or immersing herself in the vibrant hues of purple and lavender, she found tranquility in these simple pleasures. As we bid farewell, let us cherish the memories of her cherished pastimes, forever etched in our hearts.

We will remember Barbara’s as a dedicated person, committed to her work and the people around her. Her contributions, both professionally and personally, have left a lasting mark on the lives she touched.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children Anthony Quinn Briggs of East Windsor, New Jersey, and Monique Kristen Briggs of Carrollton, Georgia.

She is survived by one brother, Charles Houston Buchanan Jr. (Jacqueline) of Columbus, Georgia; one nephew, Charles Houston Buchanan III (Brenda) of North Brunswick, New Jersey; three nieces: April Bradley of Duluth, Georgia, and Twanita Wilcox and Tamika Hamilton of NJ; three great nieces: Keyera Buchanan, Charlii Buchanan, and Cali Buchanan; and three great nephews: Zaire and RaChiem Bradley of Duluth, Georgia; and Tyzhan Buchanan of Monroe, New Jersey.

She is predeceased by her mother, Virgina Lee Buchanan; father, Charles Houston Buchanan Sr.; and brother William Kelvin (“Cap”) Buchanan of Somerset, New Jersey.
