Bruce L Jennings Sr.

Bruce Lionel Jennings, Sr. was born to the late Wilbur Henry Jennings, Sr. and Delores Reese on December 29,1949 at Middlesex General Hospital in New Brunswick , New Jersey. 

Bruce was educated in the New Brunswick Public School System before moving to Somerset with his mother and siblings. He graduated from Franklin High School in Somerset, New Jersey in 1968. After graduating Bruce was part of the the Upward Bound program and obtained his Bachelors of Science from Rutgers University. Bruce was very athletic in his college years.  In all sports; football, track & field and gymnastics he made the varsity teams during his freshmen and sophomore years. In the early 70’s he married Doris Lee Wheaton and the two welcomed three children ,Nicole, Natalie, and Bruce.

Bruce ranked 3rd Dan in Red Belt Kung Fu Martial Arts. With his passion for the martial arts he gained many awards, trophies and medals throughout Central New Jersey. Through his knowledge of the arts, he specialized and became very skilled in the Samurai Sword. Bruce Jennings is the founder of the. former Somerset School of Kung Fu Do Jo.  Bruce will be remembered as SiFu, The uncle with the firecrackers, Gus, Brucy and Daddy. Bruce is predeceased by his parents Wilbur Henry Jennings , Sr. and Delores Reese, three of his siblings Delores “Becky”Jennings, Lawerence Jennings and Wilbur Henry Jennings, Jr.

Bruce Jennings leaves to mourn, his children Nicole Benschine of Franklin Park, NJ , Natalie Rivera of Sicklerville, NJ, and Bruce Jennings, Jr. of Washington ,DC (Marci Jennings). His grandchildren Claudia Benschine, Noah Benschine, Christopher Rivera Caitlyn Rivera, Christian Rivera, Caleb Rivera, Chloe Rivera, Casey Rivera, Quentin Jennings and Zara Jennings. His siblings Linzy Reese of Dayton, NJ (Vernetta Reese), Debra Moss (Lewis Moss) of Clarksville TN, Dawnn Reese of Atlanta, GA, Cheryl Reese ,North Brunswick ,NJ. and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.
