Charles Edward Hairston, Jr.

On December 30, 1956, Charles Edward Hairston, Jr.  the third of five children was born to June Boddy Hairston and the late Charles E. Hairston, Sr. in Suffern, NY.  He attended school in North Brunswick, NJ, graduating from Middlesex County Vocational and Technical High School - East Brunswick in the Class of 1975. 

Charles affectionately known as “Chucky”, worked as an auto mechanic after graduation for many years where he developed a love of cars.  He liked working on his 1968 Camarro and restored his 1979 Corvette.  Chucky later worked at Squibbs and Twin County Grocers,but followed his entrepreneurial spirit and became owner/operator of Hairston Trucking. Chucky enjoyed being at home gardening andlandscaping his yard. He enjoyed building his computers, watching TV, and spending time with family. He especially enjoyed his grand dogs Jazz, Apollo and Atlas.  

Charles departed this life on July 26, 2024, peacefully surrounded by family. Charles was preceded      in death by his father, Charles E. Hairston, Sr.; his paternal grandparents, McClain and Katie Webb; and his maternal grandparents, William and Bertha Boddy.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Celeste Hairston; hisdaughter, Caryn A. Hairston; his mother, June Boddy Hairston; foursiblings: Rhonda Mitchell (James “Mack”), Lori Kae Hairston, Donald Hairston (Carolyn), and William Hairston; one niece, Joi Mitchell; three nephews, Sean Hairston, Dion Mitchell (Kenisha), and William Hairston, Jr.; one great nephew, Joshua Hendricks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
