Charles Jones, Jr. Obituary

Charles Edward Jones, III departed life on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in New Brunswick, NJ. Charles was born on November 15, 1957, at Middlesex Hospital (now know as Robert Wood Johnson Hospital) in New Brunswick, NJ.

Charles also known as “Charlie” was a lifelong resident of the Piscataway, NJ area before moving to New Brunswick NJ. He was employed by Rider Furniture Store in Princeton NJ for over 30 years and was a very dedicated worked who did not miss work and loved working for the owners (Bill and Susan). Charlie would often say how well they treated him. They taught him how to refinish natural wood furniture, make various types of furniture repairs and how to reupholster furniture, which he loved most.

Charlie loved the outdoors and also working with his hands. He did construction framing and hanging sheet rock. Charlie was also good with landscaping and building small personal items with his hands.

Playing the lottery was a hobby of his and he had his good winnings and many times none at all. One of Charlie’s happiest moment in his life was when he moved into his own apartment in New Brunswick. He was so excited and grateful that Gail Miles and Brian Miles was able to make this dream come true.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Carmen Jones-Simmons (Ewing NJ) and Lorrain Jones-Walker (Stratford NJ); his brother, Raymond Louis Jones (California) and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his longtime friends Gail and Brian Miles.

Charlie was predeceased by him mother, Doris Jean Jones and his father, Charles Edward Jones, Jr., and his brother, Jimmy Jones.
