Dearell Kenneth Sheppard was born on December 2, 1956 in Savannah GA. He moved to Freehold NJ at an early age where he was educated in the Freehold School system before moving to Perth Amboy where he continued his education.
Kenny, as he was affectionately known, also attended Hudson County College, where he developed his culinary skills. Aside from being an excellent cook, he was also a lover of music in which he became a self-taught drummer.
Shine, as he was known to his friends, received that name in his early teens by being a shoe shine boy on Smith Street in Perth Amboy.
Kenny entered into eternal life on August 27, 2020. He was employed at Ford Motor Company for 19 years, as well as Elijah's Promise, and Kettlebell from which he retired.
He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Jackson Jr.; sister, Ella Lorraine Jackson and Patricia Ann Jackson. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Elizabeth Jackson; one brother, Anthony Jackson; one daughter Joffna Black; one son Bajhir Sheppard; two step-daughters Isaiah and Yesenia Burch; four grandchildren; his life partner Frances Burch; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
