Effie M Roberts

Effie Roberts was born on January 30th, 1944, in Murfreesboro, NC to Littleton and Hallie Mae Drumgoole. On October 8, 2025, Effie answered God’s call. Effie lived in East Brunswick, NJ for over 30 years, where she was known for her spirited personality, her love of church, and her devotion to family. For more than 25 years, she served as a nurse at Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home, caring for others with compassion and skill until her retirement. Effie found joy in the simple things—reading her Bible, playing bingo, driving around town, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her stubbornness was matched only by her generosity and fierce loyalty.

She was the proud mother of Toni Oglesby and the late Stacey (Tawanna) and Jeffery Alexander. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren James Jr. Oglesby and Shaneka Mosley (Derek), and her great-grandchildren Dakota, Jazmyne, and Mariyah. Effie is also survived by her loving sisters Melinda and Patricia, sister-in-law Rosetta Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family who adored her.

Effie was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her sons, one sister, and one brother. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the stories we share, the love we carry, and the faith she instilled in each of us.
