Fisher Richard Hall Jr. Obituary

 Fisher Richard Hall Jr. affectionately known as “Rick” was born on May 19, 1949, in Brooklyn, New York, the youngest child of the late Fisher and Elsie Hall. He departed this life on October 27, 2022, at home in Fairburn, Georgia.

The family relocated from New York to Cliffwood, New Jersey where Rick attended Matawan High School and graduated in 1968. Upon graduating he went on to attend Shaw University, Raleigh, North Carolina. In 1970 Rick enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Dix New Jersey and later deployed to Hanoi, Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1973.

Upon his return home he took employment with United States Postal Service, Red Bank New Jersey until 1984 when he located to US Postal Service in Atlanta Georgia until his retirement in 2011. Rick was also employed at Eastern Airlines from 1985-1987.

Rick attended the Second Baptist Church in Matawan, New Jersey in his early years alongside his parents and siblings.  After his relocation to Georgia, he was baptized at the Elizabeth Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Craig Oliver, Sr.

Rick was always a deep thinker and thoughts of social change. He was a community mentor with the Furthering Fathers, a member of the NAACP, National Action Network and the Acacia Lodge #4. He was a 32nd degree Mason.

In his downtime Rick loved to read, play chess, watch sports, horseback ride and mess with his classic cars but most of all he loved spending time with his friends and family. Family relationships were very important to him, and he loved spending time with his Hall cousins.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents Elsie and Fisher. his sisters' Viola Mitter and Beverly Gutridge, nephews Kevin Mitter, Steven Mitter, Anthony K. Smith Sr., Walter ’TJ” Hicks and Perry S. Wright, his niece Cetavia Mitter and his brothers in love Roland Mitter and Joseph Gutridge Sr.

Rick leaves behind to honor and cherish his many precious memories his daughters Nancy Blue and Dawn (Dramon) Smith, grandchildren Brittany Bonner, Victoria Blue, Victor Blue and  Dakota Smith, great grandchild Naomi Robinson, brother Franklin Sr. (Kim) Hall, his former spouses, Shirley Henning, and Gwendolyn Toney Hall his, bonus children Charmion Arnold and Carlos Ward, and five bonus grandchildren, nieces Michelle (Richard) Jones, Donna Mitter, Tina (Perry) Wright, Kim Mitter Smith, Audra Gutridge and Cynthia (Sean) McCauley, nephews Joseph Gutridge Sr., Dwayne Gutridge Sr., Eric Gutridge Sr., Darnell Mitter, Franklin Hall Jr. and Alvin Gutridge Sr. two sisters in law, Savannah, Georgia a host of loving cousins, and loved friends.  He will be missed by many, so it is never goodbye but, in his words, “PEACE”
