Gerard Thomas Riley

Gerard Thomas Riley was called to enter the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at 12:51 a.m. Gerard was preceded in death by his mother Doris Riley, brother Gregory Riley, and his father Thomas S. Riley. He leaves behind his sister Gayle of Virginia, brother Keith of Atlanta, sister Gwen of California and a hosts  nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Gerard was born on December 28, 1956 in Long Branch, New Jersey, he spent his younger years in the Shore area when his family moved to Morristown, NJ in 1969. Gerard graduated from Morristown High School. Gerard was very artistic  and creative and known for his craft. He loved building, working and fixing almost anything, planting and landscaping but his greatest love spending his time in New York. 

In 1984 Gerard moved to Orange, NJ where he lived for 40 years and cared for his mother. In his professional life, Gerard worked 20 plus years for Commercial Flooring Management where he was respected and admired by his colleagues. He approached his work with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility. His contributions were valued, and all who worked with him felt it was the privilege to work with and for him. 

We grew up side by side, facing life's challenges and joys together. As sisters and brothers we shared a bond that words can hardly describe, filled with laughter, and endless support. His presence in our lives was a gift and his memory will continue to guide us. His spirit will live on and in our hearts forever.
