It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Gizelle Scott, aged 56, on December 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Over the past nine years, Gizelle faced this challenge with remarkable strength and resilience, experiencing remission three times before her passing. She left us peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family.
Born on April 28, 1968, in Manhattan, Gizelle dedicated her life to her family and community. She was known for her unwavering kindness, infectious laughter, and genuine love for those around her. Gizelle attended P.S. 155 and later graduated from Jane Adams High School for Nursing, where she developed a passion for caring for others. She worked at Omni Hotels for 30 years, where she built lasting relationships and made a significant impact. She also pursued a career in real estate for a few years before finding her true passion as a director at First Choice, where she dedicated herself to helping women thrive.
In addition to her professional achievements, Gizelle was passionate about baking, often making delicious breads for holidays, bringing joy and warmth to family gatherings. Her home was always filled with beautiful flowers and the warmth of loved ones.
In recent years, Gizelle developed a deep passion for birds, especially Cardinals, as a heartfelt tribute to her cousin Debbie, who preceded her.
Gizelle is survived by her loving husband, Michael; her three children, Brandon, Mikey, and Savannah; and her cherished grandson, Luca, who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her parents, Tom and Monserate; her siblings, Denise and Lisa; and many nieces and nephews who adored her.
Gizelle’s spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
