Ildefonso Alvarez Lopez, age 89, resident of Bound Brook, went to heaven on Friday, December 20, 2024. Ildefonso was born in Mexico City on January 23, 1935, and was a very interesting man.
At the age of 24, he met Ytandehui, the love of his life, and married her three months later. Their love is everlasting, going 65 years and strong.
Ildefonso worked as a mechanic and worked his way up at a big car dealership. In his early twenties, he became the Chief of Mechanics for said big local car dealership. He was determined man and bravely decided to open his own independent auto mechanic shop. Despite his basic education, his intelligence, perseverance, commitment and discipline led him to become one of the best mechanics in the county. His passion and faith in God ultimately blessed his life with abundance, making him well-known in the community, and allowing him to also prioritize his family and generosity with others.
Ildefonso had two loves in his life: his cars, and his family. Cars were a very prominent part of his life, so much so to the point he was like a living automotive encyclopedia! He could tell you anything and everything about a car - you name it, he knows it. Regardless of his great admiration for cars, he was a family-man, and prioritized his loved ones always.
And sure enough, he was surrounded by those same loved ones when he needed them most.
Ildefonso was survived by his wife Ytandehui; his daughters, Yaneth and Gabriela; his grandchildren, Wendy, Pamela, Jeffrey and Matthew; the family dog, Brownie; and his extensive family back in Mexico.
