Jacquelyn "Jacqui" Gantt

December 17, 1969 ~ April 21, 2022 (age 52)

Obituary

Jacquelyn “Jacqui” Charisse Gantt entered this world with her miraculous arrival on December 17, 1969, at Middlesex General Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She was the only child born to the late Charles and JoAnn Gantt. She was a true blessing to her parents and added much joy to their lives.

Jacqui was a resident of Somerset, NJ for most of her life and recently moved to Bound Brook, NJ. She attended the Franklin Township Public School District. After graduation she attended cosmetology school and worked at A Cut Above in New Brunswick while taking classes. Later, Jacqui decided to change careers and began working in the healthcare field for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and UMDNJ, where she was employed for over ten years.

Jacqui enjoyed spending time with her family and hanging out with her cousins and friends. She also loved to travel and had several stamps in her passport. Jacqui was a movie buff and had a massive DVD collection. She was also an avid boxing fan and loved to cook and try new recipes. When she was younger one of her favorite pastimes was spending time with her father gardening and watching Wild World of Sports.

Jacqui was a devoted daughter and cared for her mother when she became ill, visiting her weekly in the nursing home and bringing home cooked meals so they could feast while watching movies together.

On April 21, 2022, Jacqui departed this life peacefully surrounded by family and friends.

Jacquelyn Charisse Gantt was predeceased by her loving parents, Charles and JoAnn Gantt; her paternal grandparents, Marshall Gantt and Sarah Lockett Gantt; her maternal grandparents, Jack Stanley and Anna Houston Stanley; two uncles, Jackie “Petey” Stanley and William “Bibby” Stanley; and two cousins, William “Billy” Blunt and Joy Blunt.

Jacqui leaves to cherish her life and memory, two aunts, Barbara Stanley of Somerset, NJ and Vanessa Hayden of South Brunswick, NJ; three uncles, Lance “Dewey” and Woodrow “Woody” Stanley of Somerset, NJ, and Victor Stanley of Philadelphia, PA; two cherished friends, Trisha Grace and Amy Miller; and a host of cousins and beloved friends and relatives, including the Gantt family in Alabama.
