James Douglas Brunson

James Douglas Brunson was born in Clinton, North Carolina on January 19,1934. He was the son of Annie Lou and Moses Brunson. At an early age he was adopted by his aunt and uncle Carrie and Alonso Darden and migrated to Newark, NJ.

James received his formal education in the Newark Public School System. Upon graduating from High School, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorable discharged. He was employed by the East Orange Veterans Hospital from where he retired. James loved reading and cooking.

James departed this life on November 12, 2022. He was loved by all who knew him and will be sorely missed.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted daughter, Claudia Brunson Robinson; his life companion, Dolores Brunson; two sisters, Jeanette Robinson and Elaine Darden; three nieces, Sandra Kornegay, his caregiver Darcel Graham, and Rochelle Brooks; along with a host of nephews, cousins and friends.
