Jennifer D Herd

Jennifer Diana Cox Herd was born on January 10, 1963, to Winford and Ruth Cox, in Manchester, Jamaica. She was the youngest daughter and the eighth child born to this union. She departed this life on May 2, 2022.

Jennifer migrated to the United States as a young child with her family. She graduated from Hubbard Middle School, Plainfield High School and attended Union County College, where she majored in Business Management. She started her career at CIT in New York City and later worked for Prudential Insurance Company for 33 years as an Executive Assistant. At the same time, she earned her Bachelor's of Science Degree with Distinctions/Honors in Organizational Management/Human Resource Management from Thomas Edison State University in Trenton, New Jersey.

Jennifer met the love of her life Robert in 1985 and on May 30, 1992, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Robert Herd. To this union two children were born.

Jennifer accepted Jesus Christ to be her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was very active in ministry. She was a former member of New Life Church where she served in the Dance Ministry, Drama Ministry and Youth Choir before she relocated to Somerset and then to Monroe. Jennifer and her family became members of Without Walls Church, under the leadership of Bishop David Lucky, Jr., where she remained a faithful member.

Jennifer was predeceased by her father, Mr. Winford Cox; her mother, Mrs. Ruth Cox; and her brother, Mr. Samuel Cox.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Herbert Herd; her son, Robert Herd; her daughter, Tiffany Herd of Monroe NJ; six brothers, Livingston Cox of New Jersey, Ezra Cox of New Jersey, Dunstan Cox of Jamaica, West Indies, Junior Cox of Florida, Earl Cox of Florida, and Delroy Cox of Baltimore, MD; four sisters, Carmen Walters of England,  Masie Reid of Florida, Geneva Alfred of Florida, and Claudette Francis of New Jersey; three brothers-in-law, Denroy Reid, Joseph Alfred, and Leroy Francis; five sisters-in-law, Ivette Cox, Shirley Cox, Suseth Cox, Purusha Cox, and Althea Cox;  a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, cousins, other relatives, church members and friends.
