Jimmy Christopher Alexander was born on Sunday, August 26th 1951 in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago to the late Ruby Alexander (Whitfield) and James Rogers, and he was the middle of four children. In 1985, he was united in holy matrimony to his wife, Martha Lowery-Alexander. After 73 years, Jimmy transitioned on Wednesday August 7th, 2025.
Following Caribbean traditions, at young age Jimmy Christopher would spend his time with local kids training pigeons to fly and fight for sport and pitching marbles as a pastime; so much that his mom would have to search for him to do his chores.
Jimmy Christopher began his education in Trinidad at Moulton Hall Elementary, he also attended Belmont Intermediate School and completed his senior year at West Side High School in Newark, New Jersey when he migrated to the United States in 1969.
He continued his education at Newark College of Engineering (now NJIT) where he received a Bachelors in Engineering, later attended Drexel University (Philadelphia, PA) where he was an adjunct professor and received a Master's in Civil Engineering. He made his family proud being the first generation to graduate college, with his siblings to follow in his footsteps.
Between the years of 1973 and 2016, Jimmy Christopher was employed by Day & Zimmerman (Philadelphia, PA), Stevenson Institute (Hoboken, NJ) teaching engineering classes, CAB Associates (NY,NY), Citnalta Construction (NY,NY); self-employed real estate owner of multiple tenant-leased properties in the state of New Jersey.
Jimmy Christopher's spiritual relationship began with God at a young age in Trinidad West indies in the roman catholic church. He was member of the St. John Vianney Church in Colonia, NJ where he attended for many years.
Jimmy Christopher had a great love for his wife, children, and family who he cared for dearly. He was known to take care of those around him as a provider, leader and wise-individual. He also had a passion for his work in engineering always finding a new project at home, fixing or building things for friends and family, or being the project manager in his professional career.
In his personal time, he was an avid reader of all sorts of publications, enjoyed a variety of sports especially cricket, soccer, bowling, basketball and football, would spend his time exploring new places, traveling with his wife and family, particularly to Trinidad to visit family and celebrate Carnival, and for those who knew him well, his love for a Trini favorite, Rum & Coke and Trini cuisines.
Jimmy Christopher leaves cherished memories to his loving wife, Martha Lowery-Alexander; four sons Darrell Lowery (Tracy Lowery), Kareem Morgan, Rahim Morgan (Shanan Williams) and Kelvin Alexander; siblings Selwyn Alexander (Merle Alexander), Jennifer Scoon, and Neva Smith (Robert Smith); best friends - Carlton Robinson, Chester Salandy, Willie Locust, Dennis Benjamin (work); his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends who will miss him dearly.
