Jimmy "Moose" Wilson Obituary

Jimmy “Moose” Wilson was born on June 2,1940 to the late William McCloud and Evelyn Wilson. Jimmy departed his earthly life on Friday, January 15, 2021 with his loved ones by his side.

Jimmy was born and raised in Linden, NJ where he attended Linden Public Schools, and graduated from Linden High School as an accomplished football player. He also enjoyed other sports such as tennis, basketball and bowling. After graduating high school, Jimmy joined a touch football league sponsored by The Linden Merchants, of Linden, NJ. In addition to his athletics, Jimmy was also known for his smooth moves on the dance floor oftentimes tiring his partners out.

In October 1963 Jimmy joined the Armed Forces and served until October 1965, and his character of discharge was honorable. Jimmy received the Lord at an early age while attending First Baptist Church of Linden, NJ.

After meeting the love of his life, Linda, whom he fondly called “Sweet Linda”, they were united in holy matrimony January 17, 1970 and from this union 4 children were born. He entered his eternal rest 2 days before their 51st wedding anniversary.

Jimmy was employed by DuPont, Linden NJ for 21 years retiring in 1991. He was also employed by the US Postal Service working from 1992 until his retirement in 2009. He was known by all for his great work ethics.

He was a faithful member of The Well Church, Piscataway, NJ.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Barry and his daughter, Jennifer.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his loving wife Linda, 3 sons; Omar (Janice), Elizabeth, NJ; Jarrold (Melissa), Avenel, NJ; Marlon (Keena), Piscataway ,NJ. 8 Grandchildren; Shane (Kristie), Nadirah, Jarrod, Mecca, Sharif (Cassidy), Christopher, Madison, and Jazmine. 2 Great-grandchildren; Omari and Kha’lye. One sister; Catherine Givens of Linden, NJ, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, along with a Loving Church Family.
