Jonathan Hall Obituary

Jonathan Oneil Hall born on January 21, 1967 at Middlesex General Hospital New Brunswick, New Jersey to the proud parents William Lynn Hall and Jeannie Marie Morgan Hall.

Other than spending time with his family singing and playing games, and being a comedian, Jonathan enjoyed playing basketball, bowling, swimming, and working out. Education was very important to him. Jonathan attended Roosevelt, Redshaw, and New Brunswick High School as well as Piscataway Vocational Technical High School parttime, Graduating 1985 from The University of Phoenix Sports Artist Management.

His love of music started at a young age, coming from a family of singers and musicians. It was his reason to really start singing at 11 years old with his brothers and sisters, especially Yolanda. He said he was singing just for fun around the house. Jonathan decided to get serious about his gift singing in church, the school chorus with Mr. Ernie Scott, and Ms. German of Sharon Baptist church New Brunswick. He started to listen to various Gospel artists Marvin Winans, John Pee Kee, Darryl Coley, R&B singers Anita Baker, Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway. At the age of twenty-seven Jonathan wrote and produced his first Gospel Dan Bla Records CD on an independent label, titled Cd WONDERFUL [1994]. In 1995 he toured with Hezekiah Walker promoting the song he wrote NO GREATER LOVE. He opened up for Hezekiah during the tour, the recording was LIVE IN NEW YORK.

The Life of “Dusty” Johnathan Oneil Hall Jonathan’s ability to write, produce, arrange songs, and to provide vocal coaching was exceptional. He also played the piano creating different styles of music. Jonathan would make a song out of anything. If you stubbed your toe you had a song for sure. He loved to rearrange songs and he would get his sister Yolanda involved [hit this note girl] and his brother Gerald, no matter what time of night it was, Jonathan went to bed singing and would wake up singing. Jonathan decided to take his career to the next level in the music industry and start his own label “Free Hi Entertainment” producing two CD’s “Crying Out” and “Love Levels a mixture of Inspirational and R&B. He was the singer, songwriter, producer, musician, and most of all THE COMEDIAN, you laughed until you were crying. Jonathan led Praise and Worship for Pastor Harold Faust, Philadelphia, Pa and he traveled singing Praise and Worship for Prophet Todd Hall from New York to Florida, God said your gift would make room for you and God did that for him. Thank you to his team, Manager Kris Kindrick, and team Seth Morrison, Wendall Crawford, Donovan Jackson, Darnell Thigpen, Terrence Hightower. He sang with Darryl Cherry and Anthony Darby on many projects. Jonathan’s gift spoke volumes, whenever he entered the room the light shined bright, we will remember THE VOICE. Jonathan was affectionately called “Dusty” from childhood and throughout his life from the ones that knew him. His mother gave him that name and it stuck, but when it came to business we all knew to call him Jon, Johnny, Pastor Johnny and just Jonathan.
