Jordan Sheryce Flora Gay

A beloved daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, cousin and friend, Jordan Sheryce Flora Gay left this world unexpectedly at the tender age of 26, on November 15, 2020. Born in Plainfield, NJ on December 24, 1993 to Shawn Denise Gay and Michael Tyson, Jordan grew up in Maryland where she attended Largo High School and Bowie State before relocating back to New Jersey where she received her Associate’s Degree from Middlesex County College and was currently enrolled at Kean University majoring in communications with a minor in photography.

Jordan was a loving, compassionate and creative woman whose smile would light up a room and resonate in everyone’s soul. She loved her family.  She did not have friends because once in her heart, they became family as well. Jordan was a lover of the arts and fashion. She enjoyed playing games (especially spades), dancing, photography and singing.  Her voice was nothing short of amazing.  Jordan nicknamed “Jza” was a symbol of beauty, grace and comfort.  She had the ability to bring people together and improve someone’s mood with something as simple as her beautiful smile.  We will always remember that exquisite smile, beautiful brown eyes, gorgeous deep dimples and infectious laugh.

Jordan was pre-deceased by her grandfather Herbert Steven Dudley; Great Uncles George R. Hush, Jr., William H. Hush, Lionel O. Hush, Sr. and Great Grandparents Lee Merrill and George R. Hush Sr.

Jordan leaves behind her parents, Shawn Gay and Michael Tyson; grandparents Quinette Gay, Denise Tyson- Dudley, Roger Gay, Willie Earl Tyson; Aunts Deborah Hill, Monique Waugh; Uncle Tyrone Tyson; and a host of great aunts and uncles Cynthia Penn, Brenda Hush, Evelyn Hush, Jeanette Berry, Rex Hush, Alfred Berry; Godparents Erika Hush-Samuels, George R Hush III and Kimberly Williams; best friends Tabatha Hill, Karon Tracey, Roseanne Maiorana and Takeya Sterling and host of cousins, family and friends.
