Kathy Moore Obituary

Kathy’s Journey

“To everything there is a season, a time to every purpose under the heaven” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Kathryn Louise Moore was born February 18, 1951, in Somerville, New Jersey to the late Frederick H. Moore, Jr. and the late Elma (Elaine) S. Moore. She was fondly known as Kathy to her childhood friends and lovingly called Aunt Kakkey by her nieces and nephews. Kathy went on to walk in victory with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 25, 2025, in Somerville, New Jersey.

Kathy was educated in the Somerville Public School system and went to have a 30+ year career at AT&T; starting as a Data Analyst and retiring as a 2nd Level Manager at their Global Network Operations Center (GNOC). She would later work as a bus aide for Barker Bus Company. Her nieces still reminisce about her impeccable sense of style—her sharp business attire and those signature, unforgettable pantsuits that spoke of both grace and confidence.

Kathy's interests included traveling, fishing, and painting. In her earlier years, she was an avid tennis player and skier. Above all, she loved the water, especially spending time at the beach and sunbathing.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of South Bound Brook in South Bound Brook, New Jersey where she served faithfully, lending a helpful hand to all. She was an active member of the Missionary Ministry and the Congregational Choir.

Kathy is predeceased by her sisters, Frederica S. Moore, Kirsten Moore Bryant, Karen Jones, and her parents: Frederick H. Moore, Jr., and Elma (Elaine) S. Moore. She is survived by her children, Jon Moore of Apopka, Florida; Aanisah Jauhar (formerly Stacey Moore) (Ron) of Rosenberg, Texas; Khai Harley (Vicky) of Mandeville, Louisiana; her life partner Peter Harley of Somerville, New Jersey; 4 grandchildren, Evan Moore, Na’imah, Samiyah, and Asiah Harley; along with a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and her cherished First Baptist church family.
