With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Keith D. Deloatch, affectionately known as "P-Nut" or "Nut," who departed this life on May 19, 2025, at his home in Bound Brook, NJ. Born in New Brunswick, NJ, to his loving parents, Pearlie Mae Deloatch and Keith Ricardo Sims Sr., Keith brought warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew him.
Keith received his education in the East Brunswick School System before pursuing his passion as a barber, dedicating 24 years to his craft. He spent a decade at Wiggout Salon, in Somerset, NJ, forging lasting relationships through his artistry and genuine spirit. His interests extended beyond the barbershop—he loved football, fishing, breeding and raising dogs, and he truly enjoyed engaging in the practice and discipline of Martial Arts.
His passion for sports led him to become a coach for the New Brunswick Raiders, where he was affectionately called "Coach Nut," guiding and inspiring young athletes with his wisdom and encouragement.
Keith was a man of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for his community. His joyful presence left a positive imprint on everyone he encountered, and his legacy of warmth and generosity will live on in the countless lives he touched.
Keith was preceded in death by his mother, Pearlie Mae Deloatch; father, Keith Ricardo Sims Sr.; and sister, Lucrieta Reyes.
He is survived by his beloved children: his son, Travon Deloatch; his daughter, Diamond Deloatch; and his grandson, Noah Peters. He also leaves behind his two step-sons, Trevon and Anthony Blakey; his life partner, Celita Alford; three devoted sisters, Diaisha Deloatch Jenkins, Katrina Deloatch, and Keiann Sims Thompson; and his brother, Keith Ricardo Sims Jr., and one brother-in-law, Terrance Jenkins. In addition, Keith is remembered by a loving host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
Although he is no longer physically with us, Keith's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to family and community will never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, P-Nut. You are deeply cherished and profoundly missed.
