Kenneth “Kenny” W. Gordon was an amazing husband, son, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He left this physical world on May 3, 2022 at the age of 78. He was affectionately called “Bae-Bae” by his family in Alabama and “Skeeter” by friends and family in New Jersey. He was surrounded by love at home as he transitioned to eternal peace.
He was born to Deacon John D. Gordon Sr. and Ethel L. Cliatt Gordon on March 26, 1944, in Phenix City, Alabama.
He was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church/Pastor Robert Walker. He was baptized at First Baptist Church in Somerset, NJ. After graduating from Girard High School in Alabama he relocated to New Brunswick, New Jersey in 1962. He worked at Middlesex Container in Milltown until 1974 and then with Arm & Hammer in Piscataway, New Jersey as a Computer Programmer His most recent job was Applied Info Group in IT. He believed in striving to be the best one could be and therefor his pursuit of knowledge was of the utmost importance. This desire led him to receive an IT Certification from DeVry University.
He met the love of his life his wife, Jackie of 34 years at a park in 1978. They were married on October 10, 1987.
Kenny loved life, good people and family. He loved to bowl, but even more so, he loved to win at bowling. Losing was never an option, although it did happen from time to time. He also had a love for the Spanish culture, he could salsa with the best. He spoke fluent Spanish, a language he taught himself. He was the epitome of “coolness” His sense of humor was second to none, but his quiet strength was to be envied.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was predeceased by his son, David Gordon, Sr.; two brothers, John D. Gordon, Jr. and Rufus Gordon; and three sisters, Rev. Alma Johnson, Isabel Childs, and Rutha Mae Gordon.
His life will forever be remembered and cherished by his wife, Jacqueline R. Gordon; two daughters, Angela Hill and Lesley Owens; his grandchildren: RaAsia, Smith, Joshir Hill, Daniel Briggs, Justin Briggs, and David Gordon, Jr.; a great granddaughter, Journee Smith; his siblings: Annie Nelson, Essie Echols, Apostle Besty Adams (Overseer Laurence), Ethel Strohman, Rev. Linda Wilson, and Juanita Conway (John); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
