LeRoy Van Ness

LeRoy Van Ness, 92, was born on January 5, 1930.  A life-long resident of Somerville, New Jersey, he passed away peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.

He attended the Somerville School System.  LeRoy worked for many years at Dooley Brothers Chevrolet, Kemper Pontiac and Somerville Movie Theatre.  In February of 1975, he became a volunteer Firefighter for the town of Somerville and was also their Truck Keeper.  He loved car detailing and keeping up with his yard.

LeRoy was predeceased by his father, Thomas Van Ness, Sr; mother, Virginia Jackson Van Ness; two sisters: Edna Van Ness and Anna Lowery; four brothers: Ernest Van Ness, Stanley Van Ness, Robert Van Ness, Sr. and Kenneth Van Ness; Nephews: John Van Ness, Sr., Robert C. Van Ness, Harry Van Ness and Leslie Van Ness Jr.

And so it is, family and friends unite today in deep sympathy and love for Uncle LeeTee.  Left to cherish his memories include, His sister, Clara E. Harvey of Plainfield, NJ.  Nephews: Richard " Dickie" Oakley, Robert Van Ness, Jr, Samuel Van Ness and Wesley Van Ness; Nieces: Genieve Crooks, Rachel Van Ness, Anna L. Johnson and Julie M. Van Ness; and a host of great nieces and great nephews, family and friends.

He will be dearly missed by all.
