Lucille M Godette

Lucille Marie Jones Godette was born July 4, 1963 in Long Branch, NJ. God called his Angel home on April 16, 2019 at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ .

Lucille accepted Christ at a young age and baptized under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Henry P. Davis and remained at St. Paul Baptist Church under Rev. Dr. Wilbur A. Whitehurst where she last served as President of the Usher Board, and a member of the Culinary Ministry.

Lucille graduated from Middletown High School North in 1981 and attended Brookdale Community College, where she received her degree in Education. Lucille was raised in Port Monmouth, NJ with her nine brothers and five sisters, where she was the youngest; before moving to Atlantic Highlands, NJ where she was a current resident.

Lucille was an educator for six years and then dedicated her time to foster parenting many children for 22 years. She loved volunteering in her community with the Hillside Civic League, helping at the Community Center, and babysitting for anyone in need. She was last employed at Caring Hands of Matawan where she gave love and attention to all her patients.

Lucille was predeceased by her parents, Alexander and Odessa Jones; two brothers, Curtis and Edward Jones; and two sisters, Louise Medler and Elvin Booker.

She leaves to cherish her memory, the love of her life for 30 years, Douglas Godette; two kings, Doug Jr. (Shamika) and Gilbert Davis (Jeanette); three queens, Jenna (Jayson), Tawana (Anthony), and Jackie Godette; her heartbeats: eight grandchildren with one on the way; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; a special godchild, Ameerah Patterson; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
