Lucrieta Reyes Obituary

Live Streaming will be available at the time of the service.

On the afternoon of Sunday July 4, 2021 our dear Lord called Lucrieta Marquette Reyes home to be with “Him”. Lucrieta Reyes was born on April 10, 1976 to the late Keith Ricardo Sims Sr. and the late Joy Ann Warren Sims in New Brunswick, NJ.

Lucrieta was educated in the New Brunswick school system where she was a loyal member of the Peer Leadership Group as well as co-captain of her softball team. Lucrieta graduated from New Brunswick High School in 1994. During her younger years Lucrieta attended Ebenezer Baptist Church. She participated in different roles in the church, such as being a part of the youth and young adult choirs. After high school she started attending Middlesex County College and worked in the Financial Aid office. After a few years she left Middlesex to work in multiple areas at Rutgers University in New Brunswick. She later transitioned to work for East Mountain School at Carrier Clinic. After a few years there, she settled into working for the Math and Science departments in New Brunswick Public Schools. Lucrieta ended her employment and lived the rest of her days at home with her loving family. Although she loved her work in the education system, Lucrieta had a passion for event planning and music entertainment.  She had a natural sense of planning the perfect event for friends and family and took her job as an Event Planner/Coordinator very seriously. Those who knew Lucrieta knew she wasn't one to play with, she was about her business. She would tell you about yourself then tell you she loved you in the same sentence.

In 1990, on Lucrieta’s 14th Birthday, Lucrieta met the love of her life Luis Reyes. They have been together for 30 years and married for 26 years. Together they started to explore music and their love for it through different outlets such as singing in various groups and choirs. Working with music is what birthed their dynamic duo team of LNL Entertainment and they became DJ’s, which Lucrieta LOVED. Added to this beautiful relationship, in 1996 their lovely daughter Kiara Mariah was born. The family was fully established, with the birth of their twins Quentin Antonio and Tru Joy in 2010.

Lucrieta was predeceased by her parents Keith Ricardo Sims Sr. and Joy Ann Warren Sims. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Luis Reyes, North Brunswick, NJ; Her Children Kiara M. Blalock (Terrence), Plainsboro, NJ; Quentin A Reyes and Tru Joy Reyes, North Brunswick, NJ; Mother-in-law Belen Reyes New Brunswick, NJ; 2 grandchildren, Zoe Blalock, and Baby Blalock Plainsboro, NJ; 3 Brothers Keith (P-Nut) Deloatch Dayton, NJ; Keith Ricardo Sims Jr North Brunswick, NJ;  Khalil Carmen, Easton, PA; 2 Sisters, Diaisha Jenkins (Terrence) North Brunswick, NJ; Keiann Sims Thompson (Easton) New Brunswick, NJ: 6 Sister-in-laws Margarita Diaz, Luisa Reyes, Norma Reyes, Lucy Reyes, Nilda Cruz, Stacy Blake; 3 Brother-in-laws Antonio Reyes, Edwin Reyes, and Rafael Reyes; God sisters Nikki Watkins and Tracy Parson; 1 Goddaughter Kyaira Harmon; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
