Margaret Joan Chester was born on March 24, 1940 to Clarence Thomas Morris Sr. and Edith LaBad. Margaret along with her five brothers, Thomas Frasier Morris, Clarence Thomas Morris Jr., Burnette Elsworth Morris, Robert Brad Carey, and Howard Clyde Carey were born and raised in Greenport Long Island, New York.
In January of 1958 she was blessed with her first child, Robin Stewart. From there she went on to meet Solomon Chester Jr. and relocated to Cranford New Jersey. The couple wed in September of 1963 and were blessed with two more children Howard Chester and Hugh Chester. From her three children she was blessed with 12 Grandchildren, Khaliyl Stewart, Andre Chester, Shawn Blackmon, Jhaliyl Stewart, Dominque Blackmon, Brandon Walker, Imani Stewart, Lauren Savini-Chester, Tianna Chester, Arianna Chester, Malachi Chester, and Patience Queen and two great grandchildren Kristin Stewart and Brielle Queen. In 2015 Margaret relocated to Lawrenceville Georgia where she became a devout member of Berean Christian Church Gwinnett.
Margaret worked at Pathmark grocery store for 30+ years. She enjoyed photography, shopping, doing puzzles, and watching sports with her husband. Margaret was known far and wide for her spectacular cooking and slamming barbecues.
Margaret was a very wise, loving, and caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Known to her grandchildren as Nana, Shanaynay, Gram Gram and to her great grandchild as Big Nana. On July 22, 2021 Margaret gained her wings at Emory University Hospital in Johns Creek, Georgia. Her wisdom, loving spirit, and presence will be greatly missed but she will forever live on in our hearts.
