Marion Adaline Proctor - Miller was born on January 13, 1933, to the late John and Loudia Proctor and fell asleep in death on Sunday, January 22, 2023, at home supported by her loving family, in Jacksonville, FL.
Marion was born at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and resided most of her life in Bridgewater and Somerville, NJ. She was a very active member of Macedonia Baptist Church of Bridgewater, and held numerous positions including usher, choir president, deaconess, and hospitality. She was known as the “Candy Lady”, but to her grandchildren she was lovingly known as “Church Gram”.
She held multiple positions in various companies like housekeeper, laundry press operator and retired from Celanese as a machine operator. She was well-known in the community for her iced tea and candy. She would feed whoever came to her home. Marion was a great listener and willing to comfort anyone that needed a shoulder to cry on. Many people either slept on the couch, the floor or on the screened porch. Her doors were always open!
She rode her bike in the Memorial Day parade, and bike races. She traveled to many places with her family and friends. Her signature saying was “I’m Blessed” and she said that until she went to sleep in death. She spoke about God and His mercies to everyone that talked with her. She loved to dress to impress. She was often complimented on her style, and she never looked like a grandmother. Her hat collection was one of her signature statements, and she was never without one. She always talked about God’s greatest quality “Love”. She finally learned how to LOVE.
She is predeceased by both parents, her ex-husband; William Miller I, a son; William Miller II, a Grandson; Travis Davidson, and a great-grandson; Derrick Rajon Morrison.
