Mark Bullock III Obituary

Mark Bullock III departed this life and earned his eternal reward on April 16, 2024, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ with love of family surrounding him.

Mark Bullock III was born on August 12, 1941, in Pinetops, North Carolina.  Mark was one of eight siblings born to the late Mark Bullock Sr. and Ida Ruth Bullock.  After graduating from George Washington Carver High School, he thereafter relocated to New York where he met the love of his life, Lenora and moved to New Jersey.

Mark affectionately called “B” by his family and friends was known for his storytelling.  He had a way of telling stories that would captivate and intrigue anyone who listened.  People would be drawn in by his storytelling and just couldn’t wait to hear the outcome.  Mark had a love for fishing, barbecuing, gardening and most of all spending precious time with his family.  Mark had a special bond with each of his sisters, nephews and nieces.  He would always stay in touch with them regularly.

Mark had a strong work ethic and believed in working hard for anything he wanted, whether it was a boat, car, home, and furnishings.  Mark was also a family man who believed in taking care of his family and friends.  He was known for his insightful advice, referrals, and the unwavering support that he would supply. Mark inspired many to work hard, save and invest in their future.

Mark worked and retired after thirty-four and a half years with Shell Oil Company, which is now known as Motiva in Sewaren, NJ.  At Shell Oil, Mark worked his way through the ranks initially starting off as a laborer until he was promoted to the position of Pumper. He made lots of friends and regularly talked with them. After retiring, Mark became a Scrapper to occupy his time which later became a business for him which led to many connections within the community.  Mark’s scrapping business afforded him the opportunity to help and serve others.  It was common knowledge that “If you ever needed some furniture, an appliance, or some tools, then call on “B”, he’s more than willing to bless your life”.

Mark was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and was a member of North Stelton AME Church for 25 years where he served on the Stewart Board.  On the Stewart Board before his health started to decline, he would often times be one of the first to meet and assist in the setting up of the pool for baptism.  Mark also enjoyed singing and for a season sang in the Men’s choir until his health began to decline, and even then, he was faithful to watch Sunday’s church service and any funeral that was live streamed.   He leaves his loving wife Lenora with many fond memories, his son Mark Allen Bullock IV (Irene) of Chesterfield, VA, Lisa Bullock (Anthony) Plainfield, NJ, Lynnette Bullock Manville, NJ, his grandchildren Chanel French, Chevon French, Marcus Edwards (Aurora), Elijah Bullock, Enoch Bullock, Ephraim Bullock, Taniya Bullock, Matthew Morgan, great-grandchildren Nasir, Nova and Callie, 3 sisters Lucy Brown Woodbridge, VA, Ruth Wilkes Virginia Beach, VA, Margaret Revels Dover, Delaware and one sister-in-law Mattie Bullock North Babylon, NY and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.
