On November 12, 2021, Mayon “Leroy” Allen made his transition into eternal life, ascending to a place of everlasting rest.
He was born September 5,1942 to the late James B. Allen and Alma Allen in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He was the third child of five siblings and was affectionately known as “Roy Boy.”
He attended public school in the Middlesex County School System. After High School, he enlisted in the United States Army until Honorably discharged.
He worked for Monmouth Paper Company and later High Grade Beverage (Anheuser Busch) in North Brunswick, New Jersey. He drove tractor trailers for over 25 years and retired in 2008.
Leroy was a faithful member of the Franklin Park Fire Company for over 15 years, where he worked in various capacities, to include Assistant Chief.
He assisted in the Commodities Ministry at Zion Hill Baptist Church and served his community until he became ill. Leroy was a good friend to all and would help anyone in need. Leroy enjoyed his music and watching the Yankees. His favorite football team was the Minnesota Vikings. He always had a smile or a joke!
Leroy is preceded in death by his father and mother James and Alma Allen; his sister Doris Watson, brothers James and Arthur Allen. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Mary Allen, his daughter Jennifer Lowery (Tony), his grandson Jacob Kirkpatrick, bonus grandsons Michael and Jordan Lowery, his sister Carol Petty (John), his sister in-laws Juanita Bell – Morrisville, PA, Emma Richardson and Geraldine Allen – Hamilton, NJ. Josephine Mason - Trenton NJ, his brother-in-law, Willie Williams Jr. – Somerset, NJ, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
