Michael Jackson Obituary

Michael Jackson was born on December 20, 1956, to Mark Jackson and the late Anna (Mitchell) Jackson-Bond in Plainfield, NJ. He departed this life on May 14th at the age of 68.

Michael attended Plainfield public schools. He was a graduate of Damon House Incorporated and received his HS diploma from Old Bridge High School.

He was a self-employed contractor and owner of All Good Home Improvement. He was well known for his sheet rock expertise and was exceptionally talented at renovating homes.  He also worked for Incca Carroll Street Houses, Paterson, NJ for many years.

He loved music and was inspired by Parliament Funkadelic. He started a band in the 70’s called “The Illusions”, where he played guitar.

Michael was an avid fisherman and greatly enjoyed fishing trips to Montauk, NY, Massachusetts, and other places.  He loved to shoot horseshoes and was nicknamed “The Leprechaun” because he was so lucky. He was a fan of the NY Mets and the NY Jets.  He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed a peanut butter and jelly sandwich EVERY night, with his meal.

He married the former Shirille Meadows-Corbett, whom he affectionately called “Baby Cakes.”  They shared 15 years, 10 months, and 4 days together.

Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He was continually active at Calvary Baptist Church, holding the positions of 2nd Chair on the Deacon Board, and Chairperson of Buildings and Grounds. Calvary loved watching his enthusiasm when he played bass guitar for the choir.

He was preceded in death by his Mother Anna Bond, his Grandparents, and his Father-In-Law Rev. Dr. Thurlan L. Meadows.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Shirille, Daughter, Michelle Davis, Baltimore, MD, Sons, Fuquan Simmons (Latrice) , Decatur, GA, Marques Jackson, Somerville, NJ.  Bonus Children, Candace Corbett, Piscataway, NJ and Xavier Corbett, Lawrenceville, GA.  4 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
