Patricia Taylor Obituary

What a beautiful and wonderful life Patricia lived and enjoyed with family and friends!

Patricia Ann (Key-Frizzle) Taylor fondly known as “Pat or PT” was born on January 7, 1951, to the late Mr. Woodrow Key Sr., and Mrs. Bertha Stewart Key of Hardaway, Alabama.  She was the sixth child out of twelve children. God called his faithful servant home and Patricia, answered the call of God, and peacefully entered her eternal rest early in the morning on April 3, 2024.

Patricia joined Damascus Missionary Baptist Church, Hardaway, Alabama at an early age and was a faithful member until she moved away.  She attended Damascus Elementary School in Hardaway, Alabama from 1st – 4th grade, then attended Prairie Farm Elementary School in Shorter, Alabama from 5th - 6th grade, then went on to attend Deborah Cannon Wolfe High School Shorter, Alabama 7th – 12th grade, and graduated with the Class of 1969.  After graduation she moved to New York and lived with her oldest sister Maggie Key Stafford and started working at the Pilgrim Psychiatrist Hospital after a short while she found out that this wasn’t her calling having to deal with the sight of blood. In 1971 Patricia then moved to New Jersey , and was employed with New Jersey Bell Telephone Company currently (Verizon) and retired after 30 years as a Telephone Operator.  Her love for talking made this the perfect job for her.

Patricia joined Pilgrim Baptist Church, Red Bank, New Jersey in 1974 and was a faithful member and severed in all areas of the church until her health failed. Patricia was a true servant of God if there was a picture associated with Ecclesiastes 9:10 NKJV “Whatsoever your hands finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.” You would see Patricia face. She worked in a variety of departments at Pilgrim Baptist from the Usher board, Audio Ministry, Vocational Bible School, Sunday School Department, Women’s Ministry, Mission Ministry, Women’s Choir, Evening Choir, Bible Study, Hospitality Committee, Office Staff, and many other areas in the church and wherever she could serve.

Patricia was a faithful member of the ordered of Sojourner Truth #265 Eastern Star Shorter, Alabama.

Patricia had a love for traveling nationally and internationally with family, friends, and her seniors’ group. It didn’t matter the mode of transportation airplane, ship, bus, or driving her car from NJ to AL. She loved to go shopping on any day of the week and would call her niece Linda and persuaded her to go with her on the journey through every store. She had a unique way of convincing anyone to go with her whether it was shopping or traveling.

Patricia was preceded in death by her brother Theodore J. Key, and her sister Yvonne Key Kennebrew.
