Raven Moore Obituary

Beloved daughter, sister, cousin, and friend to many, Raven Ann Moore peacefully passed away on March 20, 2024, At Cooperman Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey.  Raven was born on June 18, 1977, to Frances Moore and the late Gary Moore Esq. A life-long student, she was a proud graduate of Montclair High School, Georgetown University, and at the time of her passing, was a Juris Doctor candidate at the Rutgers University School of Law in Newark, N.J.

Known for her vibrant love of life, Raven was a passionate world traveler and explorer, proficient in 4 languages (Japanese, Spanish, Portuguese, and French), who, before law school, was a translator, interpreter, and project manager for clients throughout the world.  Her work as a volunteer with the Peace Corps in Cote d’Ivoire, Africa, led to the publication of her first book about the experience, “Padre!” and inspired her love of travel for the rest of her life.

Raven was one of our family’s griots and an original member of the Titus Family Reunion Committee- her monthly newsletters (which she created) kept all of us in the loop and aware of the happenings in our large, extended family.  Through the years, we looked forward to her updates and “pokes” which kept us honest and up to date amongst our many generations. Her regular guest work on the Voice of America Francophone African radio show “RM” with an audience of 175M people, is a testament to her expansive communications skills as well.

Raven was loyal and steadfast in all her relationships, whether local or long distance, and was pleased to count among them a host of international friends whom she visited on a regular basis, with stops in Africa, Japan, England, Italy, Iceland, Rio and much of the Caribbean. Her passport was full, and she had many amazing journeys and experiences to share, along with a remarkable network of friends.

In addition, to her mother, she leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Amy Moore and a host of family, and friends.

We will fondly remember her love of jogging, health food, music, travel, and her enduring feisty spirit! We will continue to celebrate her epic life journey, and will always remember her with love, laughter, and joy!
