Robert Moses Butts was born April 9, 1964, in Piscataway, NJ to Moses Butts Jr. and the late Alberta Williams Butts. God whispered his name and called him home on December 25, 2022. He was raised in South River, NJ but relocated to Georgia and graduated from Newton County High School in Covington, GA. After graduating he moved back to New Jersey and was employed by Wonder Bread Hostess in East Brunswick, NJ. He was affectionately known as “Nick” and he loved entertaining everyone that he met with his jokes and stories.
Robert was a man of intelligence and vision. He loved writing and poetry. He was inducted into the International Poetry Hall of Fame on July 7, 1997.
Robert is predeceased by his mother, Alberta Williams Butts and brother, Wayne Dixon.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Moses Butts Jr. (Rocky) of Covington, GA; one sister, Valerie Alapati (Sam) of Flower Mound, TX; four brothers, Douglas Dixon of North Brunswick, NJ, Martin Dixon (Renee) of Willingboro, NJ, John Butts of Plainfield, NJ, Erik Butts of Plainfield, NJ and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and dedicated friends.
