Robert L Johnson

Robert Lee Johnson peacefully went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2023 at the age of 65.

Robert was born on June 19, 1957 at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ to Charles Sr. and Geneva Johnson. He was the ninth of 13 siblings. He was a graduate of New Brunswick High School in 1975 and moved to Texas shortly after to attend Bishop College.

Most recently, Robert was employed at The Urban League in Newark, NJ which he enjoyed for many years. He had a love for fashion and known to be one of the most stylish of his 12 siblings. Contrary to several of his brothers, many would describe Robert as quiet and laid back. He was extremely kind and had a giving heart; the type of person that would give someone the shirt off of his back. While being so giving to others, he was remarkably self-reliant. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by many.

Robert was predeceased by his parents, Charles Sr. and Geneva Johnson; his brothers: Charles Jr., Bruce, Richard, Darrell, Andre, Nathaniel and Jerome Johnson; and two sisters, Vivian Johnson and Brenda Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory are his sisters: Patricia Fowler (Walter Sr.), Jaquelyn Jones (Gerald), and Janet Russell (Paul Jr.); three sisters-in-law, Sheila, Gail and Esperanza; and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins and friends.
