On Monday, April 27, 2020, Robert J. Tabb, Jr. passed away peacefully at Runnells Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Berkeley Heights, NJ. He was born October 27, 1934 in Newark, NJ to the later Robert, Sr. and Marie Tabb.
Robert was a graduate of Central High School and Newark College of Engineering (now known as NJIT) in Newark, NJ. He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. Robert was a longtime employee for Xerox Corporation, where he retired after many years.
Robert loved photography and taught Photography courses at Farleigh Dickerson University. He was an avid reader and historian of African culture. He was an exotic car enthusiast, great debater, enjoyed traveling, lover of great jazz music, and loved to eat. He never turned down an invitation for dinner.
Robert will be remembered for doing things “his way”.
Robert is predeceased by his parents Robert, Sr. and Marie Tabb, four brothers, William Thompson, Leroy Thompson, James Thompson, and Frederick Tabb, and three sisters, Elizabeth Christian, Gladys Spaights, and Mildred Miller.
Robert leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Robert and Norman, two sisters Rev. Barbara Muse, of Tuscaloosa, AL and Joan Morgan of Woodbridge, NJ, and a host of family and friends.
