Rosa Garcia, 56, of Asbury Park, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born on December 29, 1968, in New Brunswick, NJ, Rosa’s life was a testament to strength, kindness, and love. She dedicated many years to a fulfilling career at Rutgers University, where she retired after a long tenure of loyal service. Later, she continued sharing her warmth and generosity through her work with Sage Hospitality as part of the Asbury Park Collection, leaving a lasting impression on both colleagues and guests.

In her later years, Rosa made her home in Asbury Park, where she found peace in the sound of the ocean, joy in leisurely strolls along the beach, and connection in the vibrant spirit of the community she came to adore. A lover of travel and discovery, she embraced every opportunity to explore the world and appreciate its beauty.

Above all, Rosa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, titi, and friend. She is survived by her loving daughter, Breyonna Kelton, and her cherished grandchildren, Cali and August, who were the light of her life. Her strength, grace, and unwavering love will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

A celebration of Rosa’s life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sharon Baptist Church in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her memory.
