On June 4, 1946, in Elizabeth, New Jersey; Bernice Ingrams and Samuel Hester brought to life a man like no other, Samuel Hester. He was gentle, a man of his word and true brother to all his friends and always keep a level head in the times of struggle. Immediately after graduating for Elizabeth High School. He took on a task that is not for weak hearted by serving his country as Marine Sargant who lead his troops in the Vietnam War. Once, coming back home from the War he settled down with Roberta Hester for 34 years of blissful, loving and nurturing marriage.
On Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1:10am our beloved Samuel Hester of Somerset, New Jersey decided to set sail on a solo cruise at the age of 77 years young.
This solo cruise would be nothing like the one Sammy & Roberta (Bert) shared in St. Thomas, St. Kitt, Aruba or even Atlantic City overlooking the Ocean. This would be a venture setting sail for a party of one. Samuel Hester kissed his wife and proceed to board his ship.
His loving wife, Roberta Hester, made sure all his affairs were in order for his cruise from Kango hats to match all his outfits to ensuring he would be well taken care of with panda pop on his phone and the oldies but goodies playing through his headphones. His family gathered around him in prayer of warm blessings and comfort for the cruise. Hugs and gentle kisses on the forehead as he departed the dock of life.
Samuel Hester will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 45 years, Roberta M. Hester; two children: Tangela (Michael)Wright and Shyann Hester; six grandchildren: Daryian (Kassidy)Kelton, Namiaya E. Kelton, Michael E. Wright, II, Laylah M. Hester, Bryson L. Hester-Fairley and True L. Wise; a sister, Elsie Bell; a brother-in-love, Ronnie Watson; a sister-in-love, Amanda Watson; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and Friends.
