On November 5, 2022 Shana departed this life after a lengthy illness with her family by her side.
She was born in Princeton, New Jersey on June 7, 1986 to Miriam McDaniels and Mohamed Abdel-Rahman.
As a young child, Shana attended the Princeton Public Schools and later moved with her family to Morrisville, PA where she completed her high school education. Shana held a Bachelor of Arts degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and later obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Saint Joseph’s University. She worked in the mental health field before becoming a Senior Marketing and Operations Manager at Bristol Myers Squibb.
Shana was a loving and caring partner and wife. She was a beautiful, intelligent, and passionate young woman with a zest for the finer things in life. She had a great sense of humor and was always willing to extend herself for the betterment of others. Shana was an exceptional baker and often surprised her family and friends with unique desserts on special occasions. The family particularly loved her lemon bars, raspberry chocolate cupcakes, and Reese’s peanut butter cup cake.
Shana loved singing and would be seen doing impersonations of Mariah Carey and Beyonce. She was a cat mom and could often be found relaxing with her husband and two cats Belle and Dewey enjoying her favorite reality television programs. She also loved traveling and developed an affinity for the coast line of California. Her passion for food and wine, made San Francisco, Napa Valley, Malibu, and Santa Monica among her favorite places to visit.
In recent years, Shana became an advocate for people seeking assistance in navigating the nuances of the healthcare system. She often led discussions in medical support groups and sent assistance packages to people less fortunate. She became a fierce advocate of patient empowerment and navigating the healthcare system.
Shana will forever be remembered and cherished by her devoted husband, Rashade Ameir Hakim Haynes II, her mother Miriam McDaniels, her father Mohamed Abdel-Rahman, her brothers, Eric Abdel-Rahman & Karem Ali; she also leaves a host of family members, including her beloved nieces Tiana, Mariah, Jasleen & Autumn as well as a network of friends.
