Terrence Alford Obituary

Terrence James Alford unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2023, at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, NJ at the age of 38.  He was born on December 1, 1985, to Leslie Ann Wilson and Terrence L. Alford in Queens, NY. Terrence was the second oldest of five children. He graduated from Francis Lewis High School in Queens, NY in the Class of 2003.

Terrence would go on to obtain his Associates of Arts in Paralegal Studies from Berkeley College and his Bachelor of Arts from the esteemed HBCU Clark Atlanta University. Terrence was known as a go-getter and overachiever as he thrived to be the best version of himself. During his studies he was on the 2005 Dean’s List, 2008 Dean’s List, and a member of the Clark Atlanta University Management Club. Terrence’s ambition led him to be employed by companies such as Elseviere, Yelp, LimeEnergy and Willdan where he made an invaluable impact.

Terrence was truly multi-faceted and he had the ability to connect with anyone he crossed paths with.  He lived his life to the fullest enjoyment by spending time with family and friends making many significant memories in our lives to cherish forever. Terrence was a helper and was always ready to lend a helping hand or…. muscle, whenever someone was in need. A true testament to his giving heart.

To know him is to know he was also a sports fanatic at heart.  Being a New Yorker, he proudly represented through and through as a diehard fan of the Giants, Mets and Knicks. His fun and competitive nature shined most on game days. Catching him when his teams were down may be the only time his good-will waned. Terrence’s sophisticated sense of style was his true signature, down to his coveted sneaker collection. His sense of pride in himself rippled out to those nearest and dearest to him.

In October 2013 a love story unfolded when Terrence met his soulmate Jaren M. Jenkins. The two instantly clicked and were inseparable from the very beginning. Two hearts formed a bond, and all who witnessed their connection knew it was something special. A deep understanding and unwavering commitment blossomed between the two, proving that true love knows no boundaries. On June 12th, 2022, the two married, becoming Mr. & Mrs. Terrence Alford.

Terrence will always be remembered for his straightforward personality and hearty, contagious laugh. He was always proud and cheering for his loved ones in life accomplishments. He was a voice of reason to many, charismatic to the core, a beacon of light and a pleasure to be around, and the definition of a family man. To encounter his positive energy and happy spirit was an experience that will be deeply missed by his wife and all who loved him.
