Thomas Jackson Newton Jr.

Thomas Jackson Newton Jr, 80, passed away Monday, August 31, 2026. Born in Miami, Florida he spent most of his adult life residing in Plainfield, New Jersey. He was a realtor for the past 20 years and created and owned a picture framing business before that where he made many lasting relationships.

He was loving son of the late Laura Otis Litchfield and late Thomas Jackson Newton.

Thomas is survived by his sons Thomas Jackson Newton III (and wife Stephanie) and John Parker Newton; his grandchildren, Thomas Jackson Newton IV and Zoe Jane Newton; his brothers and their wives James Clark Newton (Bobbie) and William Litchfield Newton (Barbara), as well as his nephews Adam Jackson Newton and Ben C. Newton (and wife Grace Darling Newton), and nieces Jennifer Olivett and Marta McGraw. He also leaves behind his companion of many years, Rebecca Holman.

Beyond his family, Thomas will be sorely missed by the friends he held dear—too many to list but loved all the same.

Thomas took great joy spending time with those he loved and sharing meals with them. His tuna noodle casserole was legendary. He had the biggest heart in helping others and a wonderful sense of humor. His love and legacy will live on in all who knew him.
