Timothy Christopher Jackson born August 16, 1951, suddenly left us on February 12, 2023 in Manhattan. A graduate of Boston University and Fashion Institute of Technology, Timothy started his career working for some of the top fashion designers of the time. It wasn't long before he transitioned to work as a couturier, designing for and dressing private clientele who were often found in New York City society pages. An enormous talent, Timothy had a natural instinct and knowing for creative, contemporary garments that refined a collaborative relationship with the client. To own a Timothy Christopher creation, was to understand how a piece of clothing could elevate any event for the wearer to a place of glamour with an understated elegance and a perfect fit.
Whether it be traveling to his favorite international cities or the Hamptons, Timothy’s life was filled with what many would label as outrageous adventures. And with a personality that was much bigger than his stature, he charmed and entertained all with his stories that often left us belly laughing with him. Besides his love of embellishing everything and everybody in his unique, simple visions of beauty, he loved watching movies and living in his absolutely favorite adopted city for the past 50 years in a prized apartment on the Upper East Side.
Timothy wasn’t all laughs and glamour, as he didn’t shy away from an argument and sometimes to a fault. Those that loved him knew this, too, would pass. In the end, his big heart failed him and that larger than life personality left his body on February 12, 2023. We embraced all that made him unique and know that above all else, until the very end of his colorful life, Timothy always did it his way.
Timothy Christopher Jackson preceded in death by his parents Willie Mae Jackson, Raymond Jackson and two brothers, Carl Jackson and Artis Carpenter. Left to mourn are his siblings, Dorothy Elbeck; Ronald Jackson; Clarence Ware; Barry Jackson (Maya); Stanley Jackson; Patricia Ewers (Rev. Garth); Warren Jackson (Darlene); Sheila Jackson; Darnell Jackson along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also, very sad for the end of the adventures with Timmy are his lifelong friends Diana Yonkouski and family (of Berkeley, CA), Libby Ellis (of South Carolina) and Alexandria Day(of Florida).
