Tyrone “Ronnie” Butler – 76 of Somerset, NJ departed this life on July 23, 2023, at Complete Care at Park Place in Monmouth Junction, NJ.
Tyrone was born on May 2, 1947, in Newark, NJ, to the late Mary Smith Butler and Samuel Butler. He was educated in the Newark School System and attended Arts High School in Newark, NJ. In college he majored in Art. Soon after attending college, he was drifted to the military and served in the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Thailand as a Radio Operator. After completing his honorable service, Tyrone was later honorably discharged.
Tyrone was previously employed at Good Deal Supermarket in the Produce Department, FoodtownSupermarket over 18 years as a Produce Assistant Manager and Manager, and before retiring he was an Assistant Manager of Wawa in Princeton NJ.
Tyrone was also a phenomenal drummer and keyboard player. You can hear him drumming on Millie Jackson “Ask Me What You Want” song. He also played with many local bands such as: Satisfunction and Interforce Band to name a few. Tyrone was a studio drummer that backing up many known artists through the years. Heloved bands with big horn sections.
Tyrone was a man of faith. He previously was a member of Lighthouse Family Worship Center and recently a member of Impact Church Worldwide.
Tyrone health started to slowly decline after a stroke in 2008, but the life he lived will forever be cherished by all who had the opportunity to meet, know and love the man he was.
In addition to his parents, Tyrone was predeceased by a brother, David Butler.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Kinley-Butler; his children: Cheryl Ann Butler Bratcher (Harold, Jr.), Taurey R. Butler and Kerry Butler; a sister, Gail Butler Evans; two aunts, Joyce Jackson and Joan Knight; one uncle, Joe Knight; his stepchildren: Frederick L. Kinley, Sterling J. Kinley, and Stephanie Ann Kinley;four grandchildren: Harold S. Bratcher lll, Robert S. Bratcher, Malachi Kinley-Coney, and Jeremiah C.Kinley; and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
