Valerie Williams

Valerie Elaine Williams was born on May 8, 1962 in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Loretta Williams. On May 2, 2023, Valerie departed this life at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. 

Valerie attended New Brunswick Public Schools where she made lifelong friends. She was a dancer, an avid bowler and a huge lover of R&B music - especially Keith Sweat and Avant. She loved to travel the world and one of her favorite places was Germany. In Valerie’s spare time she loved braiding hair, playing cards, watching football (especially the Jets and Cowboys) and cooking.Two of her signature dishes were spaghetti and pork chops- two dishes her children try to replicate but can’t ever nail 100%.

Valerie is predeceased by her mother Loretta Williams, her dog child Oreo Williams, and her older brother, Frank Williams. 

She leaves to mourn her passing; her children: Courtney Charisse Williams, Corey Kwame Atanda, Catrina Docia Atanda, Curtis D. Williams; her sisters: Malvina Williams, Rosetta Williams, Angela Williams and her husband Wesley Bolton, Wanda Stokes, Velvet Williams-Cooper and her husband Duane Cooper, Margaret Sanders and her husband Charles Sanders; her brothers: James Williams, Ronnie Williams and Richard Williams. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
