Vera Christine Brown Blackshear

Vera Christine Brown Blackshear was born November 22, 1958 in Middlesex Hospital, New Brunswick, New Jersey. She departed this life on Thursday September 16, 2021 at home surround by her family.

Vera was educated by the South River School system. She was employed by Sunshine Biscuit, M.C.E.O.C Head Start, South River Crossing Guard, Catholic Charity and Kinder Kastle. She loved working with the babies.

Vera gave her life to Christ at a young age. Under the leadership of Pastor H.O. Williams of the Union Baptist Church. Vera sang in the youth choir and the B.O. Wilson Ensemble. She also liked making different crafts for the ministries of the church as well as helping her sister with Sunday School and Youth Ministries.

Vera was predeceased by her father, David A. Brown;grandparents, Winnie and J.T. Armour, Mrytis and Thomas Brown; and two aunts, Mildred Bridges and Jeannett Pollard.

Vera leaves to mourn her two daughters, LaTavia (Septonius Sr.) Blackshear Williams and LaTefa Blackshear; her mother,Francis D. Brown; eight grandchildren: Ceyonce’ TyAsia(Eternal), LaBreiah, Rabine, Taraji, Raven, Septonius Jr. and Omari; one special sister, Jacquitter Brown; three brothers,Scottie Getter, Bobby Brown, and Kevin (Shanna) Brown;goddaughter, Shawnett Mann; four nephews, Bobby (Naomi) Brown, Myles Getter, Gavin and Brent Brown; four nieces,Shanique (Chris) Harrell, Faith Braxton, Serenity Braxton, and Taylor Broughton Brown; her ex-husband, Roger Blackshear, Jr.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
