Willie Andrew Roberson departed from this life on December 11, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Willie was born on October 13, 1948, in Swainsboro, Georgia. At the age of 5, his mother moved with him to New York City to get a fresh start. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1966 and furthered his education atHunter College.
In 1969, he began working for The Bank of New York. He grewto become a Vice President in the IT Department until his retirement in 2012, after 43 years. While working at The Bank of New York, Willie met the love of his life, Connie Johnson. Their love would take them to various parts of the world. Willie and Connie built a home together in South Brunswick, New Jersey that became a hub and gathering place for family and friends.
Willie was a sports fanatic and loved the New York Jets. He coached semi-professional football, women’s softball, and The Bank of New York’s basketball team. He was also a member ofThe Bank of New York bowling league.
Willie had 6 children whom he loved. His children adored and admired him. He was involved in all of their lives and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. He was a great teacher, advisor, confidant, and he was NOT a man of few words.
He is preceded in death by his Sisters: Elaine Saunders, Barbara Trice; Brothers: Alfred Haynes and Anthony Ward; Daughter:Trinicia Logan. He leaves to mourn: Wife, Constance (Connie)Roberson; Children: Andrew Roberson, Camisha Roberson, Lakeisha Toney, Mellanie Woods, and Willie Akeem Roberson;Son-In-Law: Jamel Toney; Sisters: Beverly (Marion) Steele, Julie (Marque) Johnson; Mother-In-Law: KatherineJohnson; Father-In-Law: William Johnson; Brother-In-Law:Ronald (Luci-Ann) Johnson; Grandchildren: Alexandria (Mark), Alexis, Agnelia, Hope, Shakia, Sirkeim, Tyriq (Cassie), Tyler,Jalyn, Alvin (Krystal), Calvin, Trinacia (Christian) and Payton; 17 Great grandchildren; God Sisters: Patricia, Victoria and Laurie Samuels and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,cousins and friends.
